A Chartered Physiotherapist is a qualified member of their professional body, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
All Physiotherapists in the UK have to be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). This is a condition of using the title ‘physiotherapist’ or ‘physical therapist’, carrying out Physiotherapy anywhere in the UK, whether in the NHS or independent sectors.
The HCPC is an independent, UK-wide health regulator of specific health and social care professions, including Physiotherapy. You can view my registration here.
Kinnection practitioners are all members of Physio First, the organisation for Chartered Physiotherapists who work in Private Practice.
Appointments can be booked over the phone or via email (see Contact), as we can discuss your requirements and arrange a convenient appointment time. If we are unavailable, please leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
No, Physiotherapists can assess and treat without referral by a Doctor.
If your GP or Consultant has requested Physiotherapy, we would be happy to provide that service for you. In this case, please bring a copy of the referral letter if you have one.
Please come in comfortable clothing. You will be asked to remove socks and shoes, and possibly bottoms and tops. Shorts are available for you to wear and, of course, if you're not comfortable removing any of your clothing, this is perfectly acceptable (although could make the assessment less effective).
Please be prepared to provide your previous medical history. If you have them and if they are relevant, bring scans / MRI reports and a list of medication. You may wish to bring shorts and t-shirt.
If it is your first appointment, if possible, please also bring a completed new patient consent form.
Please contact us as soon as possible so that your appointment slot is available for another patient. A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel an appointment. Appointments cancelled within this time frame may be charged at full value.
The number of treatments will vary depending on the specific problem and the unique individual, as all treatment is tailor-made to each person. It will also depend on how long you've had the problem. As a general rule, more acute problems require an early assessment and diagnosis, which can often speed the recovery time by sometimes as much as weeks. More long-standing problems will take longer to treat, as it can take longer to ascertain the cause of the symptoms. Many musculoskeletal problems can be affected or even caused by things like emotional distress, nutrition or office seating.
After a thorough assessment, we will discuss your treatment plan together. In most cases, patients feel improvement very early on in their treatment plan. You will always be informed on the rationale for continuing treatment, as well as any changes to it.
If it is felt that you are not responding to treatment as expected, we will discuss other treatment options with you, or refer you for clinical investigation from another healthcare professional.
Yes, there is ample, free car parking outside the clinic.
Yes, we operate a home visit service covering mid-Norfolk. We offer a prompt and efficient Physiotherapy service in the comfort of your own home, while you still experience the same level of professional healthcare and benefits that you would receive at the clinic.
This service is ideal for patients who feel more at ease in being treated in a familiar environment and alleviates the stress of commuting to the clinic. It is extremely beneficial for patients that are immobile, housebound or are in too much pain to get to the clinic.
All home visit consultations last 1 hour (minimum) and it is recommended that another adult is present on the premises to act as a potential chaperone during the treatment, if required.
For further information on the home visit service, please do not hesitate to contact us for a price quote or for any additional information.
If you have health insurance, please check whether they will cover your appointment before attending. You will be required to pay the full cost of your treatment at the time of each appointment and claim back from your insurer, if applicable. You will be provided with a receipt of payment, if required.
